Are there any decentish £30ish skateboards to be had for a 10 year old and where would I be finding them online ?

To the OP, I have just gone for ebay number 380895093317

Seemed a good balance of price and quality with a few nice touches.

As a bonus, it's the only one that fitted the colour requests of our little one

I will let you know what I think when it arrives

It's here and for the price, it seems great !

Certainly seems a step up from the generic toys r us / Symths / sports direct offerings

Everything seems well made, especially the wheels and bearings which run true and smooth with no notchiness / tightness / roughness typical of cheap products.

The carry bag is a bit Cak but that was a bonus and I would have bought the deck for the price with or without it. It serves a purpose and does a job though
