Sir Jimmy Saville good at trials?

Long before HE was a Sir, was a keen roadie. Used to see him out all weathers around Woodhouse/Headingly - seen him wave to the passengers as he went past a No.1 bus in the pouring rain one night. Top bloke (if weird), I reckon!

But then he (and I) were >40 years younger then...

He has always been an inspiration to me.

I used to do endurance running, and if it wasn't for SS I would never have discovered cigar smoking and running are not mutually exclusive.

The man is well thought of in the area he lives, and all those rumours are just that.

Truly a legend, an old school trooper of the grandest order.

When I was growing up in Leeds he was our nearest neighbour (well him and the rest of the apartments in Roundhay park. He used to run across our fields on a regular basis and once dropped in and donated a sizable chunk of money to the residential school for physical disabled kids that my parents used to run. Little did I know he was in training all those years ago for this video!
