Singletrak 930 build, advice needed.

Hi everyone.

Heard good stuff about the old Trek 930's, and it being totally unpractical to ride to work on my downhill bike to my new job I decided to purchase a frame, and build up a Retro Hybrid.

The frame is 1995 Singletrack 930

So what I have already is:

Breaks: Some Magura HS33's

I know they are not strictly retro, but I can remember about 9 years ago, my friend had some yellow HS33 racelines and they were absolutely fantastic and I really wanted a pair, never really had an opportunity until I saw a set on ebay in Austria.

Hubs and rims, I've got sorted some old Mavic Crosslands I had laying about, although I do plan to change later when money permits.

So what I am after is suggestions on everything else.

My thought so far are:

Suspension, Looking at trying to get hold of some Marzocchi Bomber Z2's hopefully in red, but open to suggestions, it's 80mm travel and 1-1/8".

It should have a bottom swing front derailler, so suggestions for everything else :P

Also i'm thinking drop handle bars...

Edit:

Forgot to add, the bottom-bracket doesn't spin that freely, so I think I may give the bearings a clean, failing that possible replacement. I'll keep posted.

Not selling anything :P, this is sort of my first build, got the frame as is - from ebay, it's a build from scratch.

Damn it, can I ask a mod to move this, must have clicked a wrong tab, I was in here looking for a bottom bracket and forks actually :P

Sorry guys.

If it's a riding to work bike, you'll probably be better off with a rigid fork. If you want to use drops, the stem will need to be shorter than what you use now. And if you do, you'll need to ditch the Maguras unless you can find a pair of the properly rare HS66s with road levers, and bar end shifters.

Flat bars with barends will give you a lot of the hand positions of drops if you want to keep your current brakes (which you should because they are BRILLIANT).

Now, what length BB are you looking for? I can't tell from that photo, but I suspect that is going to have a sealed BB, so no servicing will be possible unless it's an expensive one like a Hope.
