Single speed - chain slippage?

Does anyone know what would cause chain slippage under load on a single speed. Its a vertical drop out with tensioner, 9 speed conversion running a 9 speed chain. The chain line seems fine? :?

I thought this, the chain and rear cog are brand new, the chain ring isn't, but it looks fine and was supposed to only have around 100 miles on it when I bought it. I'll try a different one.

I was wondering if it might be the power link in chain?

You sure the chain is slipping? I have had issues with my tensioner sticking and then releasing, making it feel like the chain has slipped...

You could check for deformation of the teeth on the sprocket. I had a sprocket so poor recently that stamping on the pedals caused the teeth to deform and allowed the chain to slip over them. I had previously been of the opinion that a sprocket couldn't be made so ineptly that it would fail like that.

If your tensioner is currently pulling down on the chain and has the ability to push it up, it would give you better chain wrap on the sprocket.

It could be, how do you mean sticking? is the chain fouling it and causing it to rise and then drop again?

Jockey wheel bolt came loose on mine, giving lateral play and a chance for the chain to get caught in the cage until momentum pulled it out...

it doesn't have the ability to push up but I could take a few more links out of the chain to pull the tensioner up further and get a slightly better wrap.
heres a pic of the current setup..

I had slipping when I had my Kili as a SS. after replacing/testing everything (      ) it turned out to be a slightly bent gear hanger (inwards) only fractionally out but it was enough for the slipping to occur when under tension...........

Could also be the sprocket not properly engaged on the splines of the free hub or it not being tightened enough :?

It could be a fault with the free hub. The wheels were second hand and I've never tried them out with gears..

I reckon I've got plenty to go on for now.. should keep me busy.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. :D
