Simoncini Super Record

Re:

Got the Corsa running reasonably well right now & wanted to see how it looks with black tyres.....

I think it will be going back to white/cream, probably Duranos.
(Don't anybody mention the RH lever....)

better!
How about a harlequin black and white wrap? you were right to get the carve forks to match the rear triangle, looks very smart.
I'd put a flite on it, it's a bit lower, so you get more seatpost showing, and would suit the build more.
But you're sitting on it, not me!
a nice paintjob, or even modifying that one and it would be perfect, methinks.

good Job on the build,it looks like it was made for you!

Re:

I was sitting on it very comfortably this AM for a necessary ride down town & it's better every time I ride it: ) Even with delicate 23 tyres this time.... Even the quite old Campagnolo Ergos are working well!!!!

Colour schemes are secondary, but important to me in the long run. (If I keep it, & I intend to)
The black tyres are not for this - worth a look though - & the grey bar wrap is intended for when it gets its cream 25 Ultremos & a white/black stem. Thinking ahead a little here. The seat-post here is a little below normal use, while I sort it properly: ) Me not comfortable on Flites.....

The Carve forks were a must, if possible, for me, but I checked the Tusks etc. Better to have the originals I reckon. I've already spent more than intended on this one but WTF it's a very nice ride & will only improve with details. Might have been an entry level machine at the time, but it's very nice now!

It's getting a dark (to match the carbon ends) finish ultimately, likely a blue or crimson, so that'll change everything radically.
I love to experiment: )

Might not have been made for me, but it fits me perfectly @6' 1". I'd still have the red 53cm SR if it fitted me.

So where's this new Max fixie then?

Good thing about campy, you can keep them going for ever, if you have the patience.
The fixie you say?
Mitered, brazed, and reamed.
Filing to do, plus paint obviously.
I had a NOS max tube+ lugset, a bit sorry to have sold it. but it's my job...

Very cool to see the new Max build.
In 20 years time lots will be saying 'I wish I had the foresight to have a Max built, when it was possible.': )

The 'wee surprise' isn't a gun mount is it??
Or maybe a more pedestrian rack mount perhaps....?
Hardly on a track bike though.

OK, you better tell us the truth here; )

Latest iteration of my Corsa is here:

Got cream 25 Schwalbe Ultremos here.

They get dirty quickly but feel tough & smooth to ride on our local, badly pot-holed roads.
Looking to get a non black, slightly shorter stem anon, & later a refinish without the loud Simoncini decals. A dark red or blue, close to the shade of the carbon ends.

A sweet rider, & the relaxed angles really make it good for me at my ripe old age; )
Just needs minor tweaking to make it perfect now.

I have always fancied one of these.. but no, not a gun mount unfortunately, though you have given me an idea that's not going to go away..

I think the colours are spot on, though the logos aren't the best. The design of the panels is nearly excellent, it could be great if the panels we longer, like if the grey bits were lugs.

Is the rear bag for beer/wine/spirits? no water bottle provision, so I suppose you have to hydrate somehow...
:)
