Simoncini Super Record

Just got back from a ride on the Corsa in the early morning sun.

Taking a rest under a cherry tree here.
I know certain people find a saddlebag on such a machine a bit of a detraction/distraction(?), but it means I use it more often: )

I'm in the process of getting it set up correctly for my personal use before a potential refinish.
It's very pleasing for me right now, nimble in traffic, & just as cool on the open road.

For me it is a period Ferrari, or maybe Lotus, in car terms.
This machine is in the middle of the transition from steel/alloy to carbon, & so a piece of history from 2002/3ish IMO. Best Columbus Altec Alloy tubing, Columbus Carve carbon rear triangle & forks makes it one of the best interpretations of the genre if you ask me; )

I love the look & feel of the Cream Schwalbe Ultremos, but they need keeping clean....

I love your build, classy, timeless, how about natural cork tape?is there any source for real cork tape?the strip of cork, no plastic, foam or anything?remember seeing it somewhere.

Thanks, that looks great,
but I meant the real cork tape, no stretch in it, like those cork grips you can get from rivendell or velo orange.
it's just a strip of cork, straight from the tree...
If I don't find it, I'll just harlequin all my road bars from now on...

Bar wrap

Seems to me any credible bar wrap (especially leather/cork) costs premium prices.
Just check Brooks price lists....

To me the standard squidgy, multicoloured basic item is the best. It's replaceable at a reasonable cost.

OK: )
I hear what you say, but I do think you need gloves with cotton wrap on its own. Harlequin wraps on top of it??
Me not looking for the win all the time, just comfortable commuting, fun riding, etc. at my ripe old age; )
Economy helps also: )
