749/999 have aged very well I think. The design was ahead of its time and they were a absolute bargain
They’re very marmite, I nearly bought a 998 but liked the looks of the 999. I think Ducati went a bit downhill by always using 916 DNA in the models to present after the 999.

For me the 1098/1198/848 is the best looking overall but that’s likely as it’s the period where I started to get into them.

916 shaped ones are still such great looking bike even 30 years later but do look their age as the 999 could pass as a modern bike almost.

my 2017 125 Honda Monkey and 1969 Honda Monkey Z50A "Mini Trail" - both are fun pocket size rides and I like the quality of the Japanese bikes, even 'toy' ones like those.

My brother and I also run a Honda CRF250rally and CRF300rally each (which are great bikes - just like big motorised MTBs really) and the 2nd to last photo were our big bikes a while back - buy alas my BMW BoxerCup bike is now gone, and my brother's BMW RnineT UKSportEdition is up for sale in a local garage currently.

All nice bikes and good fun - but for me sadly I'm having to give up biking after suffering a brain hemorahhage recently and its unlikely I can return to it, so even my Monkey bikes and CRF will be going in future months when I am well enough to sort out selling them all.

The last photo my "Land Rover on 2 wheels" - the quite rare old BMW R850GS was the bike I was riding home when I fell ill - fortunately I got it to the side of the road, parked up safely and called an ambulance (my brother got there just in time as the ambulance was loading me up for him to ride the bike home). That one I put straight up for sale - which is a shame as it took me ages to find what was the first proper GS bike with a genuine 16k miles from new and I hadn't had it log; and the 850 boxer was the smoothest air-oil-cooled engine they ever put in a GS (it was much nicer to ride than an R1150GSA I had previously.

Happy days anyway - I had a few Ducati's in the past, a KTM and sporty Hondas and BMWs in between - but the bikes below were my final hoorah on 2 motorised wheels that will probably all have left my garage a year from now. I will stick to pedal cycles when I eventually recover later this year hopefully 🤞

we- can'd do it all for ever can we, just enjoy it while you all still can is my advice.
Have a nice ride 👍

Awesome looking machine. The tires aren’t even dirty
Thanks, I only recently finished restoring it. all I can fault it on is front tyre is a bit cracked with age - and I was going to replace that before riding on road again - otherwise its about as nice as you will find one that is actually in use and not just a garage queen 👍. It was imported from the US around 2015 and I've been tinkering with it on an off ever since.

Yup, turned a big birthday this year and had some cancer removed on the same day, quite a birthday present.
I've been riding in the mountains today though:p. So, &uck cancer make the most of every day.
Here's to a speedy recovery M477.
