This Picture is showing my school with our director trying to get in after our class briked the main entrance.
At the end of 10th grade the kids would traditionally play tricks on the teachers as it was our last week before leaving to secondary schools.
And there is my Wheeler 313 Was my first proper MTB and I loved it.
There is a picture of me somewhere being thrown over the bars after going axle deep into a mud hole during one of the few 'races' I ever entered - the Keilder Classic.
Pretty sure the photographer positioned himself there because he knew the hole was there.
Traded that bike in for my '89 Saracen Tufftrax - which got stolen after I lent it to a mate.
And then a couple of years later, he was guilt tripped into selling me his 94/95 P7 cheaply because I didn't get anything like the money for my TuffTrax back from his insurers.
Well... well.. that's where I cut my MTB teeth too, as I'm from that neck of the woods. Did you used to come out on the tue/thurs Eve rides in our group perchance ? Can't remember the lead guys name now  He was a train driver, converted an ambulance to take his bikes. We used to do the SDW quite regularly too. Small world
89 Fisher HK-II - purchased 2nd hand in 1990, stolen three times, recovered three times. OCD rebirth and now have one in every colour and one in every size... 7 in total... told you it was OCD
"First" mountain bike is a harder thing... This is my first, and thus far, only decent mountain bike.... My '95 stumpy. Before it came a '94 Hardrock FS (which I think is still at my old family home, but I've not seen it in a decade), and before that a pair of Raleighs, one a warranty replacement for the first, which I sheared the seatstays from the seat tube landing a jump on my way to school one day... No photos of those, sadly.
I've posted these pics before, but hey...
At Mt. Ste. Anne for the world cup XC race, 1997. Finished mid pack in Sportsman. This is the day before, shortly after pre-running the course, and meeting Tinker on the route (bugger, was he fast!).
This a year later, at Woolastook provincial park, NB, again pre-running a race course:
