Picked up this Topanga last week, planning to give it a light resto and film it for my YouTube channel (BCRUK)
Looks to be completely original, maybe not the tyres..

The cranks say SH, so according to the above table, Aug'94. Front & rear derailleur SF (Jun'94). So very likely a 95 bike. The serial number is I4I07562, in case it helps the brand gurus...

1994 frame number. Came from the same factory as contemporary Ascent, Topanga and WCF models.
Different factory to the 1992 Overdrive, as they were a 'U' number, alongside Apex and Axis models.

Here's my '95 DBR WCF Vertex. I recently rebuilt the Manitou Comp fork on it making it a blast to ride single track. It's got a stock XT/LX drive train with 9 speed deore shifters and modern Deore V's with a lil help from some NOS Gorilla Brake Beefers. I'm not super stoked on the flexy carbon risers but they were cheap and NOS. So why not? The tires are the ones that came on it and I'm going to change out to some Fire XC Pro's when I get a lil bit of spare cash.

My 1992 Axis restoration, this one is a keeper, after selling a TTlite last year and regretting it, I don't think I will find a nicer Axis, plus I spent weeks restoring this one back to factory spec and mint condition

I love Deore DX. Most defo an underrated group set! One thing that's cool is the rear hubs cassette body can be replaced with a modern Deore 510 body and you can run 8-10 speed. I can't remember if I used the 510 race and seals or if the DX fit. But everything works perfectly.
