Hey lads, I have a couple of bikes the are in need of repainting and I really do not want to pay for original paint jobs and I am thinking of rattle can painting them, I am thinking I will go Matt paint(not black), I am thinking the likes of army green and tans but also stuff like red or maybe even some flouro's.
So I am wondering who out there may done this already?
If you got em would you post em up?
Thanks

Around $140-$170 in NZ, rattle cans about $20 each so 2 cans of primer and 2-3 cans for top coat I am still under that amount, I would never use that much though.
These bikes are not of high enough quality to go to powdercoat standards, and there is a few too.
They will be built as mall, lock in public type bikes so not needing to go too far.

DIY gives a sense of satisfaction that you just don't get if you send away for do ray or powder. Cost is about the same though, cost me about £50 -60 for a powdercoat and I spent about £45 on spray primer colour and lacquer. Different strokes and all that.
Never done a matt spray though. I guess you save on lacquer.
Matt olive drab would look mean with black components.

Rick, exactly what I think, olive drab would look great, also the likes of flat red, blue, orange, purple etc, look fantastic on Hot Rods, the flat paint jobs can really pop when the sun hits them too.

Powdercoated.

I wouldn't dream of using rattle cans again; they're just sub standard really.

Frames I am thinking of are not really worth it, hence the cheaper options etc, I am fully aware of powdercoat over paint, would be complete over kill on these tho.
