Went down the local tip today to dump an old fitted wardrobe and thought I'd have a cup of tea before going ....Mistake!!!
I thought I'd look in the metals skip to see if anything bike related, and just as I got there a bloke was asking the attendant if he could fish out a bike. It was an aluminium Cannondale M700 in great condition, fitted out with XTC rear & Deore DX front derailleurs, DX cantis and a good quality suntour chainset. The only thing missing was the wheels and I reckon it would only take an hour or two to get it working fine.
We chatted about it and he told me he was going to build a bike for his son from it and get it powdercoated by a friend of his. At least it'll get good use rather than being crushed, but I wish I hadn't had that cup of tea and got there 5 minutes earlier :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:
