Should I go down to the Bristol bike jumble?

I did it years ago and shifted loads but this is in no way a negative remark but feel for people that travel should be made aware. Unless it has changed it doesn't go on for very long I'm sure it was under an hour when I went. Was pretty damn good though for selling but ended up sitting the car park for rest of afternoon as the mrs had arranged to go shopping with a friend thinking I was occupied!!

I must apologise for it seeming so short. I always try to get everyone there by midday, the start time. Traditional jumble sales were/are always like this; BIG hour-long bargain fests then off to pub/shopping/the trails for the rest of your fun-packed day ( or home to stroke your cheaply-bought M900 bits like Gollum ). I've tried staying until 3 and it doesn't work.

I think the ones I've been too have been 1-2 hours & were prob just right for the amount of stalls & as you say rest of the day to clean & fit your bargains!

Could someone give me details of the Bristol Bike Jumble? I've just found this forum, consider myself a retro-MTBer (never new they existed until yesterday) and live in BS20! So want to go - it'll bring back memories of when Mud Dock opened in Bristol and my wife ended up hiding my credit card every weekend!

Hey... it's not actually at MD is it? That would be SUCH A TRIP for me (and my credit card). Luckily, I'm on wife No.2 now... and I'm sure she'll understand.

My S-Works M2's stayed faithful, though - we're still together, albeit in separate beds these days. Not for much longer though - this forum's got us back together!!!

So... where, when... what day. (I can only do Saturday.)

it's in the car park at mud dock. starts at midday on saturday. last about an hour, hour and a half.

That's SO COOL. I'm as excited as I was 20 years ago on opening day. Was there only last Sunday... but in the upstairs, of course. ;)

Great event - travel up from Taunton just for the hours pillaging, nice friendly atmosphere and plenty of like minded bikers to chat to.

Take this as a huge warning though - unless you're strong willed you may find yourself spending more than you make on selling stuff! :D

Just got back from Bristol. Picked up a pair of Manitou II's for £10 & an aluminium frame for FREE; just need to work out how to get the seat post out... :)

no one got the chainstay u-brake team marin frame then? £50 he wanted for it. too small for me!
