We have had a right battering from the snow in gloucestershire , should of been at work 15 miles away at 07:30 headed off at 06:30 getting out of our road was bad enough...slid onto the main road and that had not been gritted wheelspun for about 1000 yards thought balls to it turned around and have come home.

Now feel guilty like a school boy wagging off school

+1

I got in this morning, but they're threatening more snow this afternoon. If it does, I'm off.

That's the other thing my route is right across the high open ground and were forecast more later, quite frustrating as been thinking of a landy for ages now

I was clearing the snow off my car, and letting it idle (started 1st time in this weather) and thought ill try, but then i saw an old friend and she said she wasnt going to work, and then someone else walked by and said nobody needs a hero in this weather, so i thought sod it then, but yeah, i feel a bit guilty as well, only mile and a half from the motorway as well,

I own my own business, and didnt feel guily about not being able to make it in for 2 days during the last heavy snow we had in Lincoln 2 weeks ago.

On the first day of snow in Lincoln, it took me 2 1/4 hrs to make the 4 miles journey home. Normally, I do this in 10/15 mins.

Yes, no work = no money made. But at the end of the day, it would cost me more if I wrote my car off!

Its not worth the risk.

I had a great cycle into work this morning. The whole site was crazy, back end was all over the place and a couple of front end slide outs. It is what keeps me feeling young.

Note to self: Get a 2.1 tyre for the back instead of a 1.8...

My home town is gridlocked again as it was yesterday. Why they did not clear the roads last night whilst they were traffic free i don't know. I have seen 3 gritters stuck in traffic this morning. Some people have moved less than 100yds in 2 hours. Its pathetic really, its just 6 inches of snow...makes you wonder how we won the war really.

Anyway, i was going to sack work but then decided if i could ride home from the pub full of ale last night, then i really should be able to ride into work. Glad i did now, it was great fun!
