Should I burst his balloon?

So, a member of another forum has recently finished lightly restoring an old bike. He has posted a picture and asked for more information about the original shop/maker so that he can fully appreciate its heritage. Trouble is, I know from the pictures that his bike is not and could never be from that shop. Its all wrong for the period, much lower quality and the decals are the ones they always used when they arranged a respray for non-shop bikes.

Question is, should I tell him ?

Guess which one is a genuine early 1980s racing bike and which one isn't.

BTW I've found the thread on the other forum
lamp mount and mudguard eyes, quite loose geometry, fork crown, these lugs... kinda not 80's racer

"Any ideas on how much she may be worth? Guess it must be something as she is in great condition with good original vintage components (Regina Corsa freewheel, Campy parts etc.)"

hmmm... it could hurt... and I don't see many Campagnolo parts on it.

.........sort of reminds me of a 70's Falcon with zero braze ons.

More importantly can you tell him to centre the top tube cable clips, set like that they will do some damage to his left inner thigh :(
