So I managed to tune the gears in etc., & commuted on it a couple of times (like, 2 miles each way) gets some funny looks, mind!
Don't know how the previous owner managed to skid up the rear tyre so much, that drum brake doesn't work much! Guess I ought to take it apart & see if there's enough lining left to clean (tips?) Also be on the look out for some of those odd size 16" tyres (340, not 305 or 349)!
Couldn't figure why I liked it more than I thought I should, then I realised it must share considerable DNA with the legendary Raleigh Wisp moped (probably the first powered 2 wheeler I rode, is that a terrible secret?):
