Shogun Trailbreaker 1

Hard to see from the first picture, but if it was still wearing any of its original Shimano parts, they can be used to figure out a build date. They stamped a date code on the back of everything, charts are pretty easy to find. Singlespeed build looks great

Looking much fresher, is the paint the same kind of "frosted" finish I've noticed a lot of Shoguns seem to sport?
Yeah it does have that frosted finish. Had never seen that on a bike before, seems to clean quite easily when you are wiping it.

First ride into work today on it and very happy with it.

Hi all I recently purchased a shogun Trailbreaker 1 and was hoping to find out some details such as age etcView attachment 825226
Mate that looks awesome. Great to see it up cycled. I may have chance to get an older model also but the fork is knackered so would need replacement .

Do you know what the specs on the fork are? Diameter (assuming it's 1 1/8" maybe), straight/threaded, axle-crown length? Any intel very much appreciated 👍 👍 👍

Cheers T

I believe this bike to be one of the earlier Shogun imports into the UK by Caratti Sport , a business formerly based in Yate near Bristol .

This model dates to around 1989 , is mostly original and based around Shimano 200 GS components . It was widely available

at the time and was for many people their first experience of a MTB
