Shoes for flat pedals

Personally go for whatever aggressive soled trainer/trekking boot that has a stiff sole. Dont find cycle specific shoes work with my feet. A stiff sole but with a softer rubber that contacts the pedal is even better as it allows the flat pedal pins something to grip.

Thoroughly recommend Specialized Tahoe. They are designed for cycling so the sole is stiff enough for efficient pedalling but comfortable all-day comfort (one guy at the Specialized shop even wears a pair at work). Velcro strap to contain stray laces. Tough chunky rubber soles for traction in dirt. I've used mine regularly for over a year, they are great, the soles have resisted shredding on my aggressive pedal pins (wah wahs) much better than i expected. I have slightly wide feet and they don't pinch the little toe at all. Available with three different insole arches and foot camber plates for perfect knee alignment while riding. Removable plug for cleats if needed. Easy to wash and dry off without staining. These shoes have surpassed my expectations. Not cheap but a superb product. They have a couple of colour choices, also ladies version with pink accents etc.

Hit-tec fasthike ii mid-boot, picked up a brand new pair in my local Oxfam for £7, there working well, waterproof and warm.
