Folks
Looking for a little advice on shipping (just in case the thread title wasn't as clue!)

Basically looking to ship a frame over to Holland, I've been on parcel to go and parcel force and he price seems to be around £50 (insured up to £300) does this sound a fair price?

Never sent a frame abroad before so havent got anything to compare against

Cheers
Mark

I paid a similar amount to have a complete bike shipped from UK to Belgium.
Try UPS, but don't tell them it's a bike frame. Apparently they don't want to ship those anymore.

UPS will ship frames, but not with interparcel.
It's a real shame since the service was top notch (one frame arrived in Holland the day after I sent it).
Play with the box size. A cm smaller here or there can half the cost!

Pretty sure when I shipped a frame to Holland once it cost £16 on parcel2go? Of course, that will go up if you add insurance. Only dificulty I had was gettimg the recipients address to be recognised on their system. Got it in the end

I shipped a frame to Holland in January this year:

• 25kg weight [much, much less obviously but wanted to cover myself]

• 110 x 65 x 17cm dimensions

Used InterParcel Standard
[£20.00]

Additional Insurance [up to £500.00]
[£5.00]

VAT
[£5.00]

Total cost £30.00

The frame arrived a day later, and this was a 19-20" frame with big / heavy Marz Star forks [ie. not the easiest to make a small secure package]

I don't know if this is the service that suburbanreuban is suggesting has changed.

Anyway, gives you something to be going with anyway!

Cheers,
BB
