Is "Bifters" a typo or is it some leet retrobike speak that I am unaware of?

Noticed in this recent eBay listing aswell

M950 has a rounded shifter paddle where as M951 has more of a concaved shifter paddle same as M952 (I prefer the M951 and M952 they feel better)

Both M950 and M951 are 8 Speed.

M951 Chainset is also 5 bolt rather than 4 bolt on M950 and M951 is SGX whereas M950 was IG

951 is for 951 Low Normal rear mech

Bifter = Brakes + Shifter.

After XTR 951 ideally and shifters.

Hard to find at the moment so will take bifters if in right condition

I think you mean 'brifter' Matty. A bifter is something you smoke.
