ROAD shifters, surely? While front will work with double or triple, has I think to be a road mech - and only the dedicated 770 mech at that.

Just that I'm pondering converting my 2x10 carbon road thingy to flat bars and the choice of components is VERY restricted and specific!

worked fine with m952 xtr. its been discussed at length on mtbr lightweight forum.
