Hi I'm in dire need of an IG32 chainring to replace a knackered ring in the set, its a 5 bolt fitting. Failing that a square taper STX-RC chainset or crankset would do? Or I'm open to suggestions if anyone has some!!

Cheers,

Al

I dont have what you need, more of a question really

Does your 32 tooth middle ring have the threaded holes for
the inner(granny) ring?

I have a 1996 Raleigh M-60 with a STX -RC crankset
and it has that one year only middle ring that the inner
bolts to.
I found one in the tubs of spares at a lbs so you might try
the older shops that have been around since before the 90's
shimano era

I have two 1994 era shimano STX and STX SE cranks
That are labeled hyperdrive C and they use the standard
threaded hole in the arms to hold the inner ring(24 tooth)

But this 96 STX RC has a IG labeled outer ring and the
aforementioned middle ring with the threaded tabs for
the inner ring(22 tooth)
The hyperglide C cranks have matching hyperdrive cassettes
While the 1996 IG drive has a IG cassette

Im lost as i thought the IG stuff was older / the hyperdrive C
Stuff was newer?

Hi mate, mines labelled IG as is the rear dérailleur and cassette but I've got no idea what order Shimano made HG/IG in (I actually thought HG came first but like I said I'm no expert!).

My crankset has the inner bolts going through the small and middle chain rings into the crank arm then the outer ring bolts to the middle. Hope that helps!

Cheers,

Al

P.s. I no longer need a 32t chainring, thanks!

i have a STX chainset, rings look good on it too, and only after peanuts for it £12.50 posted if of interest i can get pics
