Shimano chain pin (9 speed) joining pin!

Went to fit my first two chains today...

The 8 speed one went well. The nine speed didn't

I got the guide part of the pin in, but the actual 'pin' part of the pin started going wonky, ended up splitting, and I had to push it back out as it was not going in straight.

I now need a new joining pin so I can try again!

Anyone got one kicking around?

no but if I were you I'd just fit a Powerlink as you can reuse them, and you can split the chain in about 2 secs for easier cleaning

+1 for using a powerlink, although I have probably got a shimano pin somewhere spare as I never use them

Thanks guys, have just ordered some powerlinks as this was the consensus. They seems a great idea.
