Building up the below

I’m thinking Shimano 733

Looking for front and rear mech
Chainset (with black rings)
2 finger levers
And cantilevers (black or silver)
(I have some thumb shifters)

Doesn’t have to be flawless but I’m looking for some nice stuff.

Looking at the cable guides there's three,it looks like it needs a top pull mech, i'm not 100 % sure but i don't think (1989 only) M732 Deore XT front mechs came in top pull think that was M735 Deore XT onwards.

Agreed looks to be a top pull set-up, but there might be a roller down towards the bottom of the seat tube to allow a bottom pull mech to be used.
Over to the OP to enlighten us!

Hi all thanks for the offers. I just need 5mins to think about them. (Will get back to you)

It’s too pull and no roller.

I think the frames around 1992.

But I wanted to build it with early xt thumb shifters and matching 733 stuff.

(So I might have to fit a later front mech I guess)

M733 is just the code they gave i think the 2 finger brake levers and the U-Brake.

Oh, is there an over arching code for all the xt stuff of that year
If your looking for XT parts for around 1992 then you'll be needing the M736 top pull front mech, chainset will be M730, cantilevers would be M734 for the low profile ones or M732 for the classic wide arm ones, rear mech would be M735.
Here's some pics of the parts

I have some XT thumb shifters which I'm keen to use. what was the latest date they sold these?

whatever that year is, is the same era I'd like the rest of the groups to be.
