Shimano 3 speed shifter wanted

Hi all, I have just bought a 1991 GT timberline but the 3 speed shifter (ST-MO50L) doesn’t click and hold the gears on the 2 larger cogs. Anyone know where I could get a replacement from? Thanks

Its just the grease bunging it up

flush it with some GT85 or switch cleaner and drizzle in 3in1

Thanks, I will give that a go. I’ve given it a good dowsing of WD40 overnight but doesn’t seem to have changed anything as yet.

it wont do, the grease will be solid making the pawl stick, you need switch cleaner to break it up

Thanks very much. An excuse my useless knowledge but do I have to cut the cable in order to remove it from the shifter? It seems I can’t take the case off without removing the cable.

The end of the cable is in the shifter, so you'll have to unscrew it at the front mech and then work your way back, if you know what I mean
