FFS I landed a smallish drop 4 or 5 feet (to flat) on my Trailstar tonight and the right hand pedal ripped outta the crank arm. Pedal thread intact, crank thread now smooth metal!!! Good bike week.

Then I had to walk back through the city centre on a friday night with a broken bike past all the horrible loud people who reek of Joop.... blah blah.

Will now be selling all the stuff from my broken prestige frame (except the stuff i was given, obviously  ) to pay for new STEEL cranks for my Trailstar. I cannot have NO bike to ride.

On the plus side I had a good interview for manager of one of my favourite shops today.

brutal

i did the same to some primo cranks before they used a steel insert

i use these on my cream one . near enough a direct copy of a primo powerbite but cheaper

http://www.cyclesportuk.co.uk/product_i ... ts_id=1709

if you have an extra £80 or so you can get a titanium axle which saves a
lot of weight over the steel one

prob gonna go with when i have some cash!!

gonna just plug the gap with something cheap off ebay for now.

I've been there ,it to was a horrible experience right enough.
what the shadow of the valley of death would look like in real life

You're just waiting for some drunken ned to try something

I escaped in a taxi :D

You are getting a reputation! :D

At least it proves you are keeping it real 8)

This alloy stuff can only take so much.

I bought my Saint (and greavesy) cranks cos of the good reviews of those and the SLX's with metal inserts. still seems (in principle) less hardcore than BMX style welded cromo bad buoys but I'll eat hats if I ever break em! :D

I have my Gusset Pigmy set up still, undecided what its getting fitted to, and probaly want too much for it for that reason..

Good luck with the job. :)
