Serious question now......uk mtb museum

Re:

Dont think they'll accept my highest offer hahaha

But I think this kinda thing would work well.

we only need 82 people to contribute 500quid each - and let's face it most of us have spent that on white porcupines!!

Indeed, take it to Mayhem, Malvern Classic or any other bike show and guest appearances at trail centres across the UK.
Rooting it down would kill it pretty quickly I’d imagine as you’d rely on people coming to one location.

They might .... imagine their missus wanting it off the drive and onto yours eh!

Or people could just turn up to a pre organised local event to anyone in the vicinity if its just a pop up?, but then we'd go away from a museum idea.

It’d be like a mobile chippy, it’s still a chippy but it’s mobile...except it’s a museum and not anything like a chippy at all...I do like chippies though and that counts for something, maybe.

Instead of rooting it in one place how about a large ‘pop up’ style museum. It could follow events or feature at any number of trail centres with no permanent rates/bills to worry about to keep costs down, plus it only needs to be manned when it’s in an active state. Modern idea for old bikes.

Great idea. No single place is ever going to be worth travelling too far for.

Love all this.....agree if its rooted in one lace would be tricky unless backed up with a trail and other reason to go there or connected to another museum.

I've been into vintage synths for years, a guy setup a really amazing fully operational museum/recording place....but out in essex, had everything anyone could have wanted, a big opening iwth few celebs etc, but just died as too far and too much upkeep....something mobile (although full of its own technical issues) would be a good way to go and allow more people to get involved, keep it alive and aside from any permanent exhibits some could fluctate depending on which areas local RB'rs fancied laoning anything interesting......
