Seperate for sale thread for complete bikes??

We're already trying to clamp down on cross posting and the idea of a separate section for complete bikes has been discussed before. I can't find the thread in which it was discussed but can summarise a few points that I remember...

Good idea in general, however it would only work if sellers kept threads up to date, especially if the bike is split.

Probably would create a bit more need for moderation, which would be fine if people stopped taking up all our time bickering on the BoTM threads...

I'll mention this thread to John when he's finished polishing his solid gold helicopter.

I'm not sure of our relationship with the ctc forum?

They a year/18 months ago ? Asked the same question and had similar yay and nay opinions but went ahead and it seems to have worked great

It might be worth John having a word with their owner/administrator for their feedback?

Can we also please please please have a pinned thread for stolen bikes which would I feel be a much appreciated thread.

Stolen bikes should get its own section. So each can be listed and titled accordingly. Makes searching much easier.

I'd like the weight weenie section back unlocked while we're at it.

Full bikes , frame/forks, parts...
not bothered. Full bikes hardly sell , most end up split as people don't want to pay full split part price.
frame and forks are parts of a bike, people can just title their post properly so it's easy to search and put parts in another thread.
Why ? It's hard enough with people posting in the wrong 'era' let alone in the right bits and bobs section.
It's casual enough as it is now and the mess comes from people not keeping there post tidy, not laying them out well, poor titles, not creating new threads when new things are for sale and they are getting long, people buying by PM and nothing on the forum for others to see. People not marking threads as sold or all gone.
...the problem isn't the section, it's the way people use them.

I'm a yay. I like the idea. But how far do you go, do you also categorise parts into say brakes, cranks, wheels, handlebars etc? I hope not.
