Anyone else notice lots of peeps at themo selling off shiny things they thought they would never sell ? not bikes, but other stuff to even out the bills ?

No, I think this place is full of spoilt B******* that always fancy something more rare, fancy, shiney or just strange!!

The collector is a fickle beast that changes his/ her mind all the time. What I find is people will sell something in hast and repent at their leasure.

Either that or half of us are on the bones of our collective A***S

Hope not? In times thrift It's nice to remember that old bikes come first.

In order to buy things, I have to sell things.. truly disposable income is, for the majority, a think of the past I feel...

Having said that, didn't matter how much I've earned in the past I was always skint

All the time :) .Its basically how i survive and keep building projects :?

I have vastly reduced my surpless and have plans to restock over time.

Having to sell one bike to help pay for a new boiler, the leftovers from the sale will go towards a new (cheaper) bike build

Had to sell one bike a few years ago that I really did not want to sell, my '03 Orange Gringo, it was a lovely bike, well specced with Hope XC hubs, Mavic X317 rims, Hope mono mini MkI brakes, Thomson, Sram X9 Rockshox Reba forks.... so many good memories attached to that bike, if I saw it for sale I'd buy it back in an instant, but it had to go to pay the bills

This is how my retrobike hobby has run up to now but I'm finding stuff goes now and the funds don't buy new bike stuff

No worries mate. Simple fact of.

Petrol- Up.
Car insurance- Up.
Food- Up.
Card/loan apr- Up.
Other boring living stuff- Up.

Wage- Down in real terms. No pay rise for a few years and none for the next few. At least I've still got a job though.
