Selle Italia Flite seat rails popped out, a little help?

I have 3 Flite ti saddles with rails that have popped out of the plastic inserts. Has anyone had luck getting them back in? I've done hours of searching without finding a good fix.

I'd hate to throw them away.

I too am waiting for a solution on this.

I have a mint Transalp that is waiting for a rail change, but the last time I tried, the Ti rails snapped!

Clearly, I didn't try again.

I actually re-fitted Ti rails back into a flite some years ago... remember it was a PITA .. but its do-able..

iirc I seem to recall cutting a few mm off the ends to allow a little more movement and 'give' and used a epoxy resin to glue into place.. :)

I had the same happen on a SDG Belair saddle. I rode for a couple of years before the rails broke as the rail would not go in. Not too sure how they manage to make these saddles if the rails don't refit.

I've had this happen before & it is fixable, although it doesnt look too pretty. dont try & bend the rails. clamp an old seatpost in a vice, then attach the seatrails to the seatpost. put the front of the rails in first. then, with a friends help then flex the hull of the saddle over the seperate rear rails. this involves brute force & a serious amount of plastic hull flexing.

I can't remember if it was you I bought the leather-less Flite from ages ago. I bought it with the intention of resurrecting my mint Transalp. I just get terrified that I'll kill another.

Originally, my saddle popped its rails after a really nasty crash in a rainstorm on the well known wet root ridden downhill in Gisburn forest. I had to ride 4 miles off road without a saddle!
