Thanks

Perhaps a silly question, but how do they differ from digital fishing scales?

Nothing. But Google must be having a bad day. Just kept giving me rubbish. :x

I was in a charity shop in Oxford the other day, and they had a great big box full of old Salter spring balances. Perfect for weighing a bike.

Weigh yourself on the bathroom scales, then stand on it again holding your bike, subtract your weight from the total and 'roberts your fathers brother'.

If you're a proper weight weenie you should have accurately weighed each individual component as the bike was built :P

 I just googled "digital fishing scale" - there were loads of results!

Is that excluding the pedals , cables , grease etc

I got some cheap fishing scales from ebay and broke them weighing a measly 33lbs  I'll have to get some better ones but I don't want to pay a lot as it's not something that will see a great deal of use . I'll have to get some nice new normal scales though as I lost my salter ones :(

I've got fishing scales. And their not very good. But it looks like i'll have to buy again
