So I've just picked up a lovely RC200 to restore which turned out to be an F5 not an F3
, and got home to find the seatpost is seized.
I know this is a well covered subject, so apologies, however I've not seen much out there about Alu posts in Alu frames. knowing the fragility of Paces and having personal experience of cracked frames I'm not about to go sticking it in a vice and giving it some welly as I'm sure it will end in tears!
Any tips? I've seen the Sheldon brown page, but I'm still not sure about Alu/Alu, I'm guessing the aluminium oxide needs dissolving. Does coke actually do the job?
All sorted now, a bit of gentle force with the saddle wedged in a gate and some WD40 did the trick!
