And just as worrying, a clear change in times: there was a time when parents who got complaints from other adults, would immediately (and largely, correctly) give their kids a sound telling off, on the assumption that if whatever they had done had caused a grown-up to complain, it must deserve a telling-off. That doesn't seem anything like as prevalent, these days. You're more likely to get very little response - if anything, entirely grudging - and just as likely to get a load of abuse for complaining.

Anyone complains about my kids (to me) doesn't have to wait for me to deal with the child in question.. questions are asked, issues are raised, punishment is dealt.
As long as the complaint is raised without shouting or abuse...

I think it was a fear thing, BITD - not that there was anything like a monster in the cellar to be truly fearful of, but all the same - you know what I mean.

The idea, for me - and for that matter anybody I knew - that somebody would tell my parents was enough to make me truly worried. These days, I just don't see that, that's all. Clearly there's exceptions, there's parents who do still do a good job - but I see it in society, and I also see it as something teachers notice, too.

A hood wearing yoof throw his takeaway down outside my shop last year just after the street sweeper had been round,so I opened the door and shouted to him "Oi there is a bin down there....." he calmly walked back and said if I wanted it in the bin then I should do it or make him do it..... :roll:

Anyway after having a crap morning at work I wasnt amused.......I said if thats what you want and rolled my sleeves up.....just to give him the impression that I wasnt joking........he did likewise and i found myself fronting out a smack head chav infront of my nice little antiques shop

Anyway a small scuffle ensued in which his girlfriend screamed at me to leave him alone......he ended up having his face rubbed in said rubbish which he still refused to bin.......when I let him go he ran off and I had to clean the rubbish up anyway :roll:

also caught a toe rag ripping a badge from a volkswagen in front of my house a few months ago.....he ran off and i chased him and caught him and made him regret his actions.....little shit :x :x
