Secondhand book prices

Yes I was digging out a couple of old LPs to give to Mr Panda, looked them up on line, he's only gettign one now :) the other was listed at £130 buy it now on an ebay record store.

Over the years I have bought a great number of motor racing books, many from the bargain bin at various large bookstores. Last year I called in at Chatters, a specialist motoring booksellers and almost had a heart attack at some of the prices. One book I bought for £4.99 just the year before is now worth over £100.
My best find though has to be a copy of 'The Bentley Boys' by Wolf Barnato bought in a second hand bookshop in Alnwick. It was a first edition from the late thirties. I thought I had paid too much for it at £240 but it was signed by Wolf ( who at the time was director of Bentley and one of the infamous Bentley Boys- winner of Le Mans in 1928, 1929 and 1930). It's a right ripping tale of the playboy 1920's scene and I have read it a good few times. Last year a signed copy sold at auction for just shy of £2,600. I'm sure glad I bought it now.

One of my grandfather's first edition books sold at Bonhams a couple of years ago.

It bought my sister a house.
