Seatpost size....GT content

Does anyone know the correct size post for an old steel GT Talera?

I'd guess 26.8.

However, what year? I know legrandefromage had a late 90's Talera so he'd be your man to PM and ask.

My karakoram is 26.8mm...........And all up currently less that 26lbs (FWIW)

1991 is 26.2mm

Indeed, it depends on the age. My 1991 Karakoram Elite takes a 26.4mm post.

My 94 Timberline is 26.8 I believe. Only one above the Talera if I remember rightly... So likely to be a similar or the same frame.

The 2 is scored off... But it's definately not 16.8 or 36.8

(Currently weighs less than 25lbs. But doesn't have any wheels, drivetrain, handlebars..... )

Thanx for replies....but 26.8 it isnt....now have to go back and swap it at the shop.
Next best bet anyone?
