Yes, I know. Thus my confusion and the reason I'm asking someone who has one. This my response from Kona:
1990 had bikes with both 26.4 and 26.8 released. You need to spot a bike shop with a seat tube gauge to verify the size. It can’t be done with calipers as the measurement needs to take place inside the tube.
And this was added, rightfully:
Using the wrong size post will either cause it to slip constantly if too small and possible wind up with a damaged collar from over-tightening or if too large it will become seized into the frame and you will not be able to remove or adjust it’s position
So getting the correct size would be nice. Did Mr. Brown use a guage? Maybe you could direct me to the link on his page.
