oops, just read you swapped out the old ones for them sorry, a fellow lover :D there good for xc too, if it's dry, they hold alot more than you'd think on loose dirt, and ice :L

Will do... I bought a pair recently for my Marin SS on Ebay for 17.99 (free P+P)... I know what you mean. I scored my front one on the Marin as I did not set the front pad correctly on one side... Luckily I went down the road first and noticed...

 that's cheap, mine cost me £13 each from my LBS

I know, the Ebay shop was called "absolutecycles" and also there was another "highonbikes"....

Small update:

The frame and forks have been stripped and painted:

The frame in the process of being stripped:

Painted:

Unfortunately the frame reacted on the down tube so I will have to do the frame again... Not happy as it looked good at this stage

The old bottom bracket was inserted when painting so that no paint went inside...

Also purchased a UN54 bottom bracket ready for the build.

and what about parts of head-set - You didn't remove them
Do You want respray front part with head-set in black as oryginal?

Yeah, I left them in as I am going to do the front end as original in black. That is when the paint reacted on another coat... I was doing it in steps but I have gone forward one step and three steps back...
