Retro Newbie
Had this for the last twenty years but haven't raced it for 10 years and haven't ridden it in the last 5 since I moved from the flat lands to the peaks.
Finally time to clear some room in the garage and sadly sell this.
Quite a special bike , was over 4K when new. It has been well used but is still in sound condition. Not totally original but many nice parts both period and later.
Frame: 1998/9 Large Pro Spec Carbon/thermoplastic - many scuffs and scrapes but no cracks.
Forks: Carbon Pace RC39 XC - good condition, work well but missing lockout cable.
Brakes: Hope C2 with period rear disc adaptor system.
Wheels: Hope hubs with Mavic rims - Various tyres.
Gears: 8 Speed XTR cassette (ti spider), XTR front and rear mech and shifters. Right shifter missing one lever but shifts fine of the stub (has done for the last 15 years!)
Crankset: Later Shimano XT hollowtech II triple with Shimano BB.
Headset: Chris King
Bars: Easton EC70 foam grips - bit aged.
Stem: Kore
Seat post: super light very long Titanium USE post.
Seat: Sella Italia Flite - TI rails - note: seat plastic base is slightly broken, has been for a long time but it makes it a little more flexible than it should be. Still useable and suits the bike.
A light fast bike....
