Schools out! Time for a new build - Y2K Santa Cruz Chameleon

Re:

Those pedals look familiar.....tho' they were less black last time I saw them.. :D (Didn't think to advertise them on here, sorry could have saved you the ebay commission!).

What colour is the frame............ ?

Cheers all! :P and thanks for the birthday wishes too :D Just got back from Hobbycraft with some touch-up paint and cake supplies - best not get 'em mixed up eh?

Ha ha Kipper, I did put out a wanted ad on here a few weeks ago - pedals are spot-on though, thank you 8) . Oldskool metal Odys are pretty hard to come by in 9/16" axle.

Polishing up a treat! 8)

After much googling I'm pretty sure it's actually a large  with the extended seat tube cut down - perhaps at sometime in its past it suffered cracking to the top of the seat tube from running an overly long post :? - something that certainly ain't gonna happen with me  . All sound now anyway and looking pretty neat.

Retouched and ready to build :P

Non-driveside decals were pretty scuffed up but careful use of a razor blade and touch-up paint has them looking more presentable . . .

It's done! Seems to be a bit of a theme with my collection

It's certainly a taller frame than I'm used to but reach seems spot-on. Forks too seem pretty much the right length for the BMX-esque build I had in mind. Reminds me a little of the SERacing/Santa Cruz 29er collab - I may need to get it some big ol' cruiser bars 8) . . .

Off to the pump track now so I'll post more pics and a parts run-down later.

Ahm sold! :P Awesome pump track bike and despite the short forks I think anything longer would totally spoil the nippy handling.

Quick spec list:

Early 2Ks Santa Cruz Chameleon frame complete with bolt-on disc mount
1998 Marzocchi Bomber Z3 Light forks
Azonic riser bars - (pretty faded - I think these were the lovely dark blue colour originally)
Oakley Point Five oldschool BMX grips
DDG shorty stem - delogo'd
Pewter ano sealed bearing headset
24 Bicycles c*ck ring seat collar
Profile BMX kevlar pivotal BMX seat and post
Rough Deore LX chainset with dodgy tapers and Profile Racing chainring
Oldschool Odyssey Twisted metal pedals
Pretty nifty chain guide made with a DMR hinged clamp and Black Spire roller
Gripshift SRT 600 and XT rear mech (8 speed but running 7 speed cassette with spacer at the mo')
LX V brakes and (very rattly) levers
Wheelset with STX RC hubs and Mavic SUP CD rims (121 front and D521 rear)
Oh, and bald Maxxis Swampthings make pretty cool pump track tyres

I think that's it. Already compiling a wishlist of 'upgrades' (Renthal DJ riser bars/Profile 3 piece crankset/bolt-up axle for the front hub or maybe QR20 forks, but those levers have got to be first to go).
