Scales?

I've got decent digital kitchen scales for the small parts, but what scales do folks use for weighing complete bikes?

Cheers

digital scales are fine for heavy small parts as most only read to within 2g. But bolts etc would need to be done in quite a number and an average taken.
But it's fine for a budding weight weenie and what I use generally (as they're easy to get at )

Look on ebay for 'fishing scales'
But I've just bought these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2863wt_891
there are 20g precision versions for a bit cheaper and will be fine, double check the spec and there is one saying 10g but is actually 20g.
I've not received these so cannot vouch for them yet

i bought bike scales from CRC can't remember the brand but are orange

i bought a really cheap fishing scale from ebay. weighed a kilo bag of sugar and it said it weighed a kilo so not too un accurate! i use it just to compare all my bikes, i know its not accurate but gives a rough idea.

Thanks, think the eBay ones might get a shot, just want to compare the weight of the Fuquay before i start changing the spec when I get it back home.

these off ebay:

paid less than £ 4 for mine ... now need to find some bags of sugar to see how acurate....

Fish scales here too.

I only really weigh things when I need to send them somewhere, even then I usually don't bother with whole bikes as I have a close idea and same for the bike boxes I use. Just add a couple of kg to account for packaging, etc. then give the price to the buyer.

Once I have it all packed I use fish scales to check it is near enough, same as I use for guitars and amps, etc., they are accurate enough for anything up to 25Kg, rarely need more.

There is no reason for it not to be accurate, just look at it's specification.

They're £6 that you linked to. My mate has the same design ones but at the 20g precision which where cheaper, not sure if they did temperature either.

Anyways none of these prices are expensive for a set of scales.
