Have never seen one set up with slicks, is it fast?

Many-many thanks for the advise on new shocks, I'm going in for preventive medicine, as regards, "is it fast". It was fast, in fact guys 25 years younger thought it was gifted though it had fat treads on then.

The 955 has been my road bike for many years, I rode Kona for almost 10 years, King-Kikapu for two bikes over the 10 years. The last one had to go because my off-road days are over, too many overuse injuries and old-age orthopedic problems mean I need softer landings and less demanding terrain.

I miss the weekends away with the boys, smelly feet and bad breath in the mornings, heart-warming camaraderie in the evenings, inner-tube scroungers, guys that ride far to close to me and loose their teeth, the freezing-cold when everyone huddles-up together when the storm blows in, the relief when we didn't need to rely of eye-sight and compass.

Hiya guys,I'm back, scrounging for help but I'm going to post some photo's of the mountain goat as soon as I get it all together.

It's looking terrific.

Here is where I need help, I ordered all my parts from Chain Reaction Belfast, a pleasure to do business with them, always has been.

I ordered parts for a new set of wheels and they offered to build them for me for free so I said Ok, when they arrived I was shocked, they had been built on a machine, not by hand.

I have been building and maintaining wheels for years for our offroad group, what I never experienced was store-bought machine built wheels.

Are they reliable if they are kept tight or should I strip them down and re-build ?

Welcome Richard. Im new too. These guys here are a bit touched :idea: , if you know what I mean. :? I still can't figure out half thier lingo, but that is half the fun.

Slim on this forum makes elastomers too. So we shall not go wanting.

Hell, are they all your Proflex ? I mailed the guys in Scotland about some elastomers but they haven't replied.

I'll try slim.

I haven't been around the forum much, been busy with 'bikey' things, at least I'll have something to talk about.

Are you suggesting there is a vocabulary and spelling problem ?
