Sarsen Trail & Neolithic Marathon 2011

Did his today - great fun.

Bit of a trip down memory lane for me as I lived on the edge of the plain BITD and covered many miles of it with my mates - happy days.

The event was very relaxed - many different bikes and abilities some other old rides too - spotted a zolatone marin and a nice nickle plated P7 on my way around.

The route was mainly on wide fast chalky gravel tracks that typify this area of the plain and went through a bunch of areas that are usually restricted due to live fire, a few more rough tracks and grass sections thrown in for good measure and a bit of tarmac.

The xizang was superb and a joy to ride, except when the saddle clamp loosened about 3 miles from the end.

The entry fee got a medal, a packed lunch and a free entry to stonehenge so was pretty good value at £15 IMO.

Few pics below including one of an incredibly ugly person on a old GT ;)

I'm planning a repeat visit next year if anyone fancies it.
