I have for sale what I believe to be an 1989 Saracen Tufftrax, im confident about the tufftrax bit just not the year. The bike is in very good condition for its age, a few marks and knocks but no dents or gouges, and all original. The minimal wear to jockeys and brake pads tell me its had a very easy life also. Oh hold on the saddle is not original but an NOS Iscacelle from 1988, so is very much in keeping. The shifters and mechs in particular are spanking, the rear mech being protected by a protecty thing.

Not sure on size either, but In the pics its set up right for me at 5’10 with my little legs and long arms and body.

Bad bits are minor and me being accurate and picky, The rear tyre is quite worn and isn’t long for this world but holds air fine and there are a few lose spokes on the rear but it remains true , my lbs have said they wont true any more wheels that I have had a go at, so I have left it alone. The cables are original so it would benefit from new ones but these are fine and a few of the white cable outers have cracks also

It has now been ousted by the Offroad project, so needs to go

The bike has mountain lx mechs, deore pedals, deore shifters, exage brakes(plastic!!!) exage country biopace chainset, exage levers, erm exage hubs on I think Rx-7 Araya rims.

I’m looking for the princely sum of £90 delivered or £75 collected, also up for swaps part ex on late 80s sugino cranks and suntour stuff, shifters and xcd 6000 stuff or anything really.

Let me know if you need any more info

Hi, can you measure the bottom bracket to main tube distance, looks biggish, but photos can be deceptive. Thanks, Kram

hi ya kram, from the centre of the bb to the centre of the top tube where it meets the seat tube is 200mm give or take 5 mm.

hope that helps
