Saracen Tufftrax - 1988 (recent re-build)

Tufftrax

Dirt Disciple
Recently re-built Saracen Tufftrax. 1988 U-brake model.

22" frame (I think) - I am 5'10" and it is a comfortable ride but not a lot of step-over room!

Frame and forks recently powder coated to high standard.
Runs really well and is very light and nippy.

Only selling as I need room to make way for another addition to my stock and already have an original '87 Tufftrax.

This bike is complete but purists may want to source some replacement parts (handlebars, canti brakes, original wheels, decals etc) as it was never my aim to complete to original standard. I just wanted a bike that worked and was a cheap re-build project.

Lost interest in sourcing original parts as I just wanted to ride it!

But as I said, the bike is complete and works perfectly.

I am looking at around £120 plus courier costs (if required) - approx £25 I guess.

Contact me if interested. I'm not in a real rush to sell but may list on eBay after Christmas if it does not go to a RB member first.

Thanks for looking.

Centre of BB to top of seat tube is 22", centre of BB to top of head tube (measured along seat tube) is 20".

Currently the top of my saddle sits around 4" above the head tube and fits fine. I am around 5'10".

The frame seems fine for my height but there's not a lot of stand-over room when straddling the bike due to the level head tube. The bike is used mainly on roads or tracks (never off-road in anger) so has never been a problem.

Thanks! I guess by "top of head tube" you mean top of TOP tube?

And (sorry for not asking before) top tube length c to c would be useful.

Thanks again.

Im 5'10" and I haven't got short legs I take 18" MTB frame and 22" in a road bike.
