Saracen Race Elite, Duns.

I take it that these are great bikes? Is this just a Kili Elite that Saracen sold off their frames before they changed to more conventional shape again in 1993? My research suggests this snd that the Race Elite was sold with Altus groupset????

So no different from a one badged as a Kili Race on the top tube other than the downgraded grouppo?

Or am I wrong?

I'm pretty sure that is the case. Saracen did specials with loads of frames over the years.

I've had a few of these. They ride well, they are heavy beasts though. I think there is something in the rear end that seems tight, or rigid with the e stay so getting the power down is quite instant. Being honest, ride wise, I prefer the conventional diamond shape kili, the 1994 purple kili I had was one of the nicest riding bikes I've had, but I'd get another of these for sure for this price if I had the space.

Thanks mate… yeah I’m just making sure I’m not buying for sake of it as I still have this too, albeit it’s a garage queen at the moment…

He’s sent me some good pics and it’s canny but not immaculate… also the groupset is a bit of a mish mash so looking to see whether I’ve got enough period LX/DX/XT to get it to where it should be… ponder ponder

I bought mine a while ago and it's 100% factory standard spec. I just need that damned seat post then it'll be ready for sale. And yeas, they are a heavy bike. It's no Explosif I can tell you.
