Saracen Kili Team Frame and forks

Look nice - says the size in the ad - 540mm so I would guess 21" or 21.5" depending on how Saracen measure C-C or C-T

Just my size - very tempted to have a punt but am in the doghouse already due to two bikes arriving this week

Back in the day a friend of mine snapped 2 of these both at the wish bone seatstay. Always looked like a weak point.

okay some questions..

it's the right size for me in that it is proper man size

I see the mention of breaking stays and being hefty should I be concerened?

the forks..okay or best to find originals?

and lastly as to a build is it one of those build and keepers?

not interested yet but am watching it

not sure on size (top tube lenght is how I work out if a bike fits) not sure on being to hefty, mine is fine but it is a rather elegant and thin back end so could be an issue if you hammer the frame. I have decided mine is a keeper, really is a loverly frame and is very comfy and the forks look good but front bounce is good if it is a user.

They can take it. Never heard of a seatstay failiure before but thin paint and weather exposure ( especially around the weld vent holes near the drop outs ) could be a cause for concern. I had one for 2 years and am 18 stone and clumsy so they're good for hard XC.

Right, I believe this to be a 97 kili team. This would be the entry level of the competition range of kilis. Tange prestige whereas the higher end steel was 853 Reynolds. This would be a 21" centre to top and the original forks are very hard to get. Great frame and yes there were some problems with some of the original wishbones snapping - I heard it was addressed by Saracen and there seem to be a few about without any issues.
