Saracen ForceTrax

Bought one of these from a local seller on eBay last week. Just wondering if anybody knows what type of tubeset it would be - feels quite light so I'm assuming it's Cro-Mo (plain gauge or butted?) There is no frame sticker indicating the type of tubeset.

Couldn't find much on Google about this particular model. The guy said he'd had from new - for 15 years - so that would make it a 1994 model or thereabouts...judging by the limited amount of clearance under the fork crown (only about an inch with 2" tyres on it) it does look quite old - it's definitely got that "pre-suspension-era" look about it.

Also wondering if it's possible to get replacement decals for old Saracens as I am thinking of getting it powder-coated but would like to replace the Saracen logo and the "handbuilt in England" logo if possible...

Any info appreciated

Thanks
Tony

This was my first proper bike as a kid, got it when I was about 13 or 14, which would make it 94 ish. I seem to remember it being around the £300 mark. Was a really nice kind of metalic blue, which I later learnt was more of a semi transparent blue paint as it would peel off after a knock (a bit like the old DMR trailstars paint but thicker, thats what I eventually upgraded the frame to after I had upgraded everything on it, lol)

I'm sure it was double butted cro-mo.. but I might be remembering something else. Came with rigid forks which I later upgraded to Marzocchi Z3's as the colour matched :)

I've still got the frame in the garage but had peeled all the paint off it, so its just got the under coat stuff on now. The stickers were metal if I remember right..
