Saracen 1988 kili flyer comp

Re:

Cleaned some of the cantis up and they are the xt ones, br 734, so to me seem like a credible "upgrade" from when wide profile were replaced with low profile designs. So assuming they clean up, will keep them and not go looking for m730s

spent most of the afternoon faffing about with a seven speed wheel, but could I get the rim in the centre of the frame, could I dogs bollox

So will see what I can sort as the build builds

Re:

Been offline for a while, glad to return to find this bike still on the radar and that you got it! A rare beasty indeed.

Shame about the ding but doesn't look like it'll get any worse or affect the integrity of the frame.

Re:

Some pictures from today. CLeaned the chainset and replaced the rings to some correctish ones. Loving the patina on the black alloy, complete removed on the arms to leave a shiny silver finish, really cool

Remembered I have some m732 stuff kicking about so, mounted that to move on a bit.

Also scrapped some of the blue touch up paint off to get back to the original powder. Worked okay, but the paint is still a Nightmare

If I could sort so decals, would be tempted to get tis refinished.

Good project!

That looks about the same colour as my trekker xt was BITD, the colour that I couldnt quite replicate in powder coat on my restored one so I went for a similar greenish colour.

There, is it the same colour as this?
