Really big fan too, just one of the best looking bikes ever 8) ,also think the appeal was you could build it whatever way you wanted.

Re. San Luis Obispo - where does MSR/Malcolm Smith racing fit into this equation? My sketchy knowledge is that MSR frames became Alpinestars frames and that MSR continue in the MX tuning world to this day.

I think our very own legend that is the Hilts may have premium knowledge on this one...

Mr K

NB. Pic one - of Mr K running the rental through the surf at Pismo Beach near SLO last October - happy days... :-); Pic 2 - Malcolm Smith

I do know the story, but maybe it is not for an inerent forum.

Mountain Cycle

there is a forum on mtbr.com dedicated to Mountain Cycle.
dont know how to do the linky thing but theres lots of info there and people who know lots about those bikes.
as you may guess by my i.d. i am a big fan of all things Mountain Cycle.

I saw a family in a suburb of Minneapolis featuring two Mountain Cycles, a Trek Y bike and something else interesting. I wish I could've talked to 'em but I was playing softball at the time...

Blody hell that was quick Mr K!

Only picked it up a couple of hours ago, and already it's more 'built' than at any point in my ownership...!!
