Devout Dirtbag
Salsa A La Carte 19"
Here are the pics as promised.
I PM'd Spence13 and have not heard back yet but he has first refusal.
After that Major22 and brocklanders023 are next in line.
The frame set has been stored in a dry shed for several years.
I believe it to be a 1994 19" version in white with Jellybean paint.
These were made from Columbus Cromoly OR and were built to be super tough.
They are quite stretched out so are good for sweeping single track.
It has a 1" head tube.
The frame has a neat gusset under the down tube/headtube join, and has lovely Ritchey dropouts.
There are lots of scuffs and scratches, and some surface rust, at worst at the base of the head tube where it has made the paint crack. A shot blast and a respray will see this frame looking 100% lovely.
The rear left cantilever boss is damaged. It is bent and rusted. At one time a previous owner has heated it and tried to bend it back. The paint in this area is lightly damaged from the heat. A good frame builder would charge £40 to mend this.
The original cable guide underneath the BB is fine, and the original headset cups from the headset sold with the frame are present. Not sure what they are, but can be seen in the product shots of the time.
I would love this frame to fit me but it is just too big, or I would have built it up long ago.
It would be great to see it brought back to life and enjoyed.
The frame number is SM507.
S for Salsa.
M for Moto.
Number 507.
I am looking for £175 posted if Spence is not interested.
Any questions please PM me.
Cheers,
Ben
