Saddle leather repair

Am attempting to restore an old Flite saddle on which the leather has become unstuck from the plastic base at the back of the saddle. Does anyone here know which kind of glue works best for this kind of leather to plastic bond - I guess it has to be flexible but waterproof?

I'd try a contact adhesive like Unibond...the sort for sticking cork floor tiles down.

That's on the right track I think - after much scouring the internet I have gone with Evo-stik impact adhesive and although it is a bit messy to use (probably just my clumsiness) it seems to be reasonably effective. Time will tell though!

I've heard of people doing just that, never seen it done. Anyone done it on here? Any pics of the results? Anyone got an idea of the cost involved?

Sadly not, but may be looking to soon - got the perfect candidate for it. Not sourced anywhere yet, but not really looked yet. Used to be somewhere right by work, but it's closed down now.

Good thought. I purchased some industrial strength contact cement from a local upholstery store for some projects years ago and the glue always held. The sales clerk said the glue they sell is commercial quality, not available at regular stores since it had way too many bad chemicals in it for regular consumer use, they simply advised I use gloves when handling. Every other contact cement I tried afterwards didn't come close. I changed jobs/cities since that time so I couldn't tell you what the name / brand of the glue is....I'm also in the US.

I have change the leather of my flite.
First, take of the old leather carefully.
Secondly, you have to find a very fin piece of leather (1mm max).
After, you have to wet the new leather a lot and so, cover your saddle with it for formating it.
After 1/2 of waiting, cut the leather and fix it with a neoprene glue.
